Union of Buddhist Relief Organisations

Union des Secours Bouddhiques (Union of Buddhist Relief Organisations)

The Union’s purpose is to support and facilitate the implementation of projects run by the departmental Secours Bouddhiques (“SB”), especially through the sharing of expertise and any collaborative action.

Departmental Secours Bouddhiques

To provide help and support to people in need without discrimination on the grounds of origin, religion or opinion, drawing on universal humanist values.
The use of the name “Secours Bouddhique” requires membership in the Union des Secours Bouddhiques (“USB”).
“Union” is the key to effectiveness. “Wisdom” is the spirit that leads to peace. “Benevolence” is the heart of our motivation.

SECOURS BOUDDHIQUE: DHARMA IN ACTION

Faced with an increasingly alarming economic and social situation, we wish to contribute, however modestly, to social solidarity alongside the main charitable organisations currently at work, and to enable Buddhism in France to find its place within the social landscape.
Manifesting the Buddha Dharma in the social sphere; applying wisdom and benevolence effectively; bringing together Buddhist practitioners and supporters in order to broaden solidarity: these are the goals of the Union des Secours Bouddhiques (USB)
This new humanist and spiritual initiative draws inspiration from all the charitable organisations that have already been at work—for a very long time —for the welfare of all beings.
As set out in its ethical Charter, the USB seeks to provide help and support to people in need without discrimination on grounds of origin, religion or opinion. To date, Secours Bouddhique branches are established in Allier, Aube and Morbihan, with other branches currently in preparation. We wish to create a branch in every metropolitan and overseas territories. Their vocation is to serve as “circles of benevolence”, to carry forward social missions, and to take part in a network of mutual support and solidarity.

All those of goodwill are welcome!
